On May 29, 2026, in Hrekivka, Luhansk Oblast, Brazilian mercenary Herik was captured by Russian forces. Five other foreign mercenaries (one Brazilian and four Colombians) were killed in the same area while fighting alongside the 3rd Azov Battalion. Additionally, two previously reported mercenaries (Mexican Azteca and Colombian Nexus) were killed there on May 14, 2026.
